Clear expectations make better prints.

This is a launch-ready policy outline, but it should be reviewed and customized before accepting payment.

Model ownership and licensing

Customers must own the submitted design or have permission for it to be printed. A download being free does not automatically mean commercial physical-print sales are allowed.

  • We may ask for the original model-page link and proof of purchase.
  • When a designer requires a paid file or merchant/commercial license, we will obtain approval before adding that cost to a quote.
  • We may refuse files that appear stolen, reuploaded, or stripped of creator information.
  • Designer attribution will be preserved where required by the license.

Items we do not accept

  • Weapons, functional weapon components, or regulated parts
  • Illegal items or designs that infringe another creator's rights
  • Safety-critical medical, automotive, climbing, structural, or protective components
  • Products intended for direct food contact unless specifically evaluated and agreed in writing
  • Hateful, threatening, or exploitative content

Quotes, payment, and changes

A request is not accepted until the customer approves a written quote. Quotes should state the model, dimensions, material, color, quantity, finishing, shipping/pickup, taxes, and expected turnaround.

Changes requested after approval may require a revised quote. Decide before launch whether custom work requires full payment or a non-refundable deposit before printing begins.

3D print characteristics

Layer lines, support-contact marks, seams, and minor color variation are normal characteristics of fused-filament 3D printing. Dimensions may vary slightly due to material shrinkage and printer tolerances.

Returns, defects, and cancellations

Because custom items are made to customer specifications, you may choose to make them final sale except for verified defects, damage in transit, or an error against the approved quote. Define a reporting window and require photos before launch.

State exactly when cancellation stops being available—such as after a file is purchased, a merchant license is acquired, or printing has started.

Turnaround and shipping

Only promise a production or shipping window you can reasonably meet. Communicate delays promptly and obtain customer approval when the revised date changes materially.

Privacy

Quote and contact forms collect the information a customer submits, such as name, email, phone, shipping preference, project details, links, and uploaded files. Use it only to review requests, communicate, produce approved work, prevent fraud, and maintain business records.

  • Do not sell customer information.
  • Restrict file access to people working on the request.
  • Delete rejected or abandoned customer files on a written schedule.
  • Do not post customer projects publicly without permission.

Contact and policy updates

Add the business email, mailing address or registered-agent contact where legally appropriate, and the effective date of these policies before launch.
